Nell's Penny Pincher 10 Quilt

Nell (VaNella) has completed her quilt with blocks from the penny pincher 10 swap. She is planning on using it for a picnic quilt. I love how it turned out and it looks like she has found the perfect spot for a picnic as well.

Given the extra time of this long weekend, I was able to put together my blocks from the PP10 swap, and get the quilting and binding done as well. Here is is. Thanks to all who participated in the swap, I love how the quilt turned out. Send me your pics and I'll add them to the blog also.

Penny Pincher 8 and 9 quilt and top

Here is the quilt I ended up making with the blocks from the penny pincher 8 swap. I gave this to my dmil for Christmas. She seemed to like it.



This one is the top I put together with the pp9 swap blocks. I haven't quilted it yet. Anybody have any tops or quilts to share from the swaps? Just e mail me a picture and I will post it for all to see.

Penny Pincher 7 Quilt

My quilt from the PP7 swap is DONE! I love how it is so bright and cheerful. I think I will enter it into the guild quilt show in May 2008. Thanks ladies!

Sneek peek for penny pincher 10 swap

I am planning the next penny pincher swap. I will likely post it in February 2008. I went looking for fabrics in my stash to see how many I had, and realized I really didn't have much for this swap, so I thought maybe others might need a bit of a head start to start looking through their stashes or purchasing if they have to. Anyway, Desi (dizzydez) recommended this block and I fell in love with it. It is on quilter's cache, and is called Road to California. We will be modifying the corners to be red in two of the corners instead of background colors. We will be using the colors of the American flag. Red, Blue and we will use white on white for the white. This makes a 12 inch finished block and is really easy to make. Here is a sample pic.
